Super Science!

Image
Super Science! During our science topic this half term, the children have enjoyed learning about animals, including humans, and what they need to stay healthy. This has included exploring the importance of a balanced diet. They have also learnt about endoskeletons in humans and other animals and identified the five main functions of the skeleton. Great learning Class 3!

Class 2 -Nativity week!

Image
What an exciting week we've had! The children amazed us all with their wonderful performance in the nativity. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them; it has truly been a great experience that the children have loved. Alongside the nativity preparations, we’ve been exploring 2D and 3D shapes and learning to name their properties. In writing, the children have been working hard to use adjectives and interesting verbs inspired by our class book, Last Stop on Market Street .  We have finished the week with a Christingle service and then great fun at the winter disco.

Forest School fun

We had a wonderful time in Forest School this week, enjoying the hammock, conkers, den building, and exploring the Forest School area. Many of the children have shown an interest in using a tool to make a hole through a conker and then thread wool through it to create a necklace. They have been so careful doing this, showing great skill and perseverance. Some of the boys watched me saw a branch and were keen to have a go themselves. Together, we used the secateurs to trim some smaller branches. Once again, they were careful and used the tools confidently. We also had a fabulous den created from pallets and covered with tarps. The children loved building dens and shelters using the materials we have on site. Finally, the children have been enjoying exploring the paths at the edge of Forest School, where they moved a pallet and some large branches to create a new area. It’s wonderful to see them making the space their own.

Class 4 – Another Busy Week! 🌟

We’ve had another busy and exciting week in Class 4! ✨ In English , the children have been planning their own animal adventure narratives. Their ideas are imaginative and full of creativity—we can’t wait to read their stories when they write them early next week!  This week we also made beautiful Christingle oranges  for the service. They looked stunning all lit up during our reflection today, creating a calm and thoughtful atmosphere. 🕯️🙏 In Computing 💻🎬, the children have been using the iPads to film different frames based on their own storyboards. They worked with scripts, camera angles, and new filming techniques. The children are naturals—both in front of and behind the camera! 🎥⭐ We finished the day with our Christmas Disco ! 🎄🎉 A huge thank you to the PTFA for organising such a fun event for us! 💃🕺

Christingle

Image
Christingle This week our school gathered for a joyful Christingle celebration in Tolleshunt D’Arcy, and it was a truly special moment for our whole community. The children learned about the meaning behind each part of the Christingle - the orange representing the world, the red ribbon reminding us of God’s love, and the candle shining brightly as a symbol of Jesus, the Light of the World. With the hall filled with warm light and even warmer smiles, it was a beautiful way to begin the Christmas season. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Andy and Linda from the church , whose kindness, guidance, and enthusiasm helped make the service so meaningful. Their support allowed our children to experience a tradition that brings hope, reflection, and togetherness each year. Christingle remains one of our most treasured events, and this year’s celebration was one to remember. Have a lovely weekend. Mrs Campbell 💚
