Image
Class 2 has had a very busy and productive week. The children have been working diligently on their spelling, maths, and reading assessments, approaching each task with focus and enthusiasm. It has been lovely to see their growing confidence as they apply the skills they have been developing throughout the term. We ended the week with a creative writing activity based on the theme of a monster who came to lunch . The children embraced the imaginative challenge, producing thoughtful and often very entertaining pieces of writing.  In addition, we have been making excellent progress with our nativity rehearsals. The children are confident with their lines, songs, and stage directions, and it is wonderful to see their hard work coming together. Thank you very much for sending in all the wonderful costumes—your support is greatly appreciated. Wishing you all a lovely and restful weekend.

We have been investigating rich vocabulary and practising detailed character descriptions. Today, the children wrote their own descriptions, focusing on using pronouns and conjunctions effectively. In Computing, the children explored the recording functions on the iPads. This half term, they have also been learning about different ways of framing their subject depending on the type of shot they want to film. Forest school fun

Image
What a wonderful forest school session we had this week! The sun was shining for us, and the leaves were covered in a beautiful silvery frost. We enjoyed crafts under the shelter, explored the paths around our forest school area, and even had fun on the rope swings! The children had a fabulous time pushing each other and working together to enjoy the challenge and excitement of the swings. We also had a fire this week, and several children volunteered to help keep it going by providing plenty of air and carefully fanning our lovely flames. They absolutely loved this, and we all engaged in conversations about fire making and safety. I am sure they will be asking for us to light the fire again soon!

It was our first rainy and cold Forest School today! The children showed fantastic resilience as we continued our session despite the weather. We made much-needed shelters, created bracelets, and enjoyed exploring lots of new equipment in the mud kitchen. Well done to the children for making the most of our outdoor time in all weathers!

The children have been exploring how to make shapes with their bodies and how to use control, balance, and strength in their movements. They have really enjoyed experimenting and developing their skills. In Computing, we have started to learn about video production and how bloggers, such as DanTDM, create their videos. This has been both interesting and insightful for the children, who were fascinated to see how much planning and creativity goes into making engaging content. They are all very excited to begin producing and creating their own videos in the coming weeks! In Geography, we learned ab...

The children have continued to read the book 'Dragon Post' this week. We used the story from the book to write a letter to the fire brigade and tell them that we had found a dragon in the bathroom! The children used questions, commands and statements in their letter. The children produced some brilliant writing! We have also started to act our way through our nativity play. The children are working hard and can't wait to show you the play in December. At home, please read through any lines your child has to say so they can feel really secure and confident in their performance.  Have a great weekend.

Class 5's Amazing Week! Class 5 have had an exciting and hardworking week as they began planning their persuasive letters to the legendary Mr Willy Wonka. To get ready, the children explored the AFOREST techniques, learning how each one can help strengthen their arguments. They put these skills into practice by taking part in our very own version of Room 101 , confidently trying to convince me to ban their most disliked things. Their creativity and persuasive flair were fantastic to see! Alongside this, Class 5 also put tremendous effort into preparing their wonderful sharing assembly. Every child played an important role, and their confidence, teamwork and enthusiasm shone throughout the performance. We were incredibly proud of how clearly they spoke and how well they shared their learning. A huge thank-you to all the parents and families who came to watch and support.
